Jeff Godfrey had no trouble apologizing Wednesday.
Orlando Sentinel contributor Brendan Sonnone caught up with Godfrey following his first day of preseason camp lining up as a wide receiver. Godfrey talked about his decision to leave the program for the spring semester and his decision to return to the team. He apologized for the impact his actions had on his coaches and teammates. He said he is enjoying his new role.
Senior Rob Calabrese, who has made the same shift from quarterback to receiver, said Godfrey was working hard to regain a solid role on the team and there was no reason he couldn’t be a productive Knight.
It was clear Godfrey is making a smooth transition to his new role and Calabrese has recovered from his latest knee injury. Both players adjusted during routes and made tough plays on deep passes.
